Yeesookyung at The Page Gallery

For the last exhibition walkthrough of the year, I visited Yeesookyung’s solo exhibition at The Page Gallery.

The title of the exhibition is related to the Chinese legend of ‘The Nine Sons of a Chinese Dragon”. According to this legend, the nine sons were not dragons; instead, each had the appearance of a different beast. Although these creatures could not become dragons, they lived among humans and shared joys and sorrows with them, acting according to their respective appearance and character.

Like the nine dragons in the Chinese legend, Yeesookyung's art is characterized by mutation and hybridity, as exemplified by her ceramic pieces which she collects and attaches with gold. This exhibition showcases her three-dimensional, two-dimensional, and digital works, inviting the audience to explore a captivating universe.
